Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The President of the Republic, Jose\u0301 Maria Neves, begins today, Monday, a three-day visit to the island of Brava, not only for meetings with local entities but also with the population, with a view to learning about the gains and challenges of the island, also known as das Flores and land of the renowned poet Euge\u0301nio Tavares.<\/p>\n

In a press release, the Presidency of the Republic emphasizes that this visit is part of the purpose of fulfilling one of the \u201cprimary objectives\u201d of its mandate, which is to be close to the populations in all regions of the country.<\/p>\n

On this trip, the head of state has \u201cimportant questions\u201d for the life of the Island of Flores and its population on the agenda, starting with maritime connections, seen as a \u201cdetermining factor of unity and national cohesion in this archipelagic country\u201d.<\/p>\n

Jose\u0301 Maria Neves also intends to hold meetings with the city council, the home protection service and the health sector to find out about local conditions.<\/p>\n
