Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>Lourenc\u0327a Tavares, president of ACRIDES (Association of Disadvantaged Children) was distinguished with the 2022 Franco-German Prize for Human Rights and Rule of Law, for her \u201cextraordinary commitment\u201d in favor of Human Rights in Cape Verde.<\/p>\n

In a brief reaction to A NAC\u0327A\u0303O online, Lourenc\u0327a Tavares is grateful for this award, noting that she \u201clacks words of gratitude\u201d for \u201cthe gesture of these two countries\u201d, for the recognition of ACRIDES’ work.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can only tell you that this award is not mine alone, I dedicate it to all the volunteers and collaborators of my team, the founding members of ACRIDES, and to all the ACRIDES partners who contributed to the consolidation of all our projects\u201d , said Lourenc\u0327a Tavares.<\/p>\n

She also underlines that ACRIDES \u201cbelongs to everyone who sees a growing being in children who need a good look, gesture and protection from all adults\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cACRIDES is everything that all its friends, partners, public and private institutions and collaborators have done for the most vulnerable children in Cape Verde\u201d, he adds.<\/p>\n

\u201cExtraordinary\u201d work<\/b><\/p>\n

In a joint letter from the two embassies, to which A NAC\u0327A\u0303O had access, the recognition of Lourenc\u0327a Tavares in the attribution of this prize stands out, for \u201cher extraordinary commitment in favor of human rights, in Cape Verde and beyond\u201d.<\/p>\n

The prize will be formally handed over in Praia, at a location and date to be announced.<\/p>\n
