Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The number of internet access service subscriptions in Cabo Verde increased 6.6 percent (%) in the third quarter of 2021 compared to the previous semester, according to the statistical indicators report on the electronic communications market.<\/p>\n

The document published by the Multisectoral Economic Regulatory Agency (ARME) reported that in September 2021 the total number of internet access service subscriptions was 459.766, of which 86% were provided by the \u2018Small Screen\u2019 mobile broadband technology.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is due to the fact that the diversity of types of plans offered by it. In addition, the number of internet access service subscriptions increased by about 6.6% in the third quarter of 2021 compared to the second quarter of 2021. When looking at the same period in 2020, there is an increase of 6%,\u201d the document states.<\/p>\n

The penetration rate of the internet access service was about 82 accesses per 100 inhabitants in the reference period, thus presenting a variation of 5.0 percentage points (p.p) and 3.73 p.p. in relation to the second quarter of 2021 and the third quarter of 2020, respectively.<\/p>\n
