Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>Around 48 families from Salto will receive basic food baskets for this Christmas. The initiative comes from a group of residents and natives of Salto, Sa\u0303o Filipe.<\/p>\n

The delivery takes place on Thursday, the 22nd, and is part of a series of activities that they are promoting and that will take place in the \u201cKa\u0301 Sabino\u201d enclosure, destined for children, elderly people from this community and from Achada Poio and the households.<\/p>\n

As Inforpress advances, the celebration of Christmas for children and seniors, according to one of the elements of the organization, Henriqueta Cardoso, aims to provide a \u201cspecial affection\u201d to children and elderly people in both communities, especially this Christmas season.<\/p>\n

A snack is planned for an average of 120 children and adults from the two communities and gifts will also be distributed to 56 children under the age of 12 and basic food baskets for 48 households.<\/p>\n

The activity also foresees a health fair, through the municipal council’s mobile clinic and moments of conviviality.<\/p>\n

Activities in Sao Filipe<\/p>\n

In Sa\u0303o Filipe, the city, the young people of the Elevolution group are preparing and organizing Christmas for the 23rd of December with the children of the III Congresso neighbourhood, at the local multipurpose centre, where around 400 children are expected.<\/p>\n

Games, fun activities, music, dancing and snacks are some of the planned initiatives.<\/p>\n

For this purpose, this group mobilized resources from some local institutions.<\/p>\n

It should be noted that other institutions have carried out activities to celebrate the Christmas season with children and elderly people in the various communities on the island of Fogo.<\/p>\n
