Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The Board of Directors of RTC says it is awaiting notification from the Regulatory Authority for Media (ARC) following the complaints filed by the President of the Republic, against TCV, to also present its defence.<\/p>\n

RTC claims to have become aware of these complaints through the media, which reported that the Presidency of the Republic presented, on the 10th of January, two complaints against the Directorate of Television of Cabo Verde, with the ARC.<\/p>\n

This, due to alleged disrespectful and discriminatory treatment of the Sovereignty Body.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe entity that manages the public channels duly learned about all the contexts and matters that gave rise to the referred complaints (…), and awaits the notification of the Regulatory Authority for the Media to, in accordance with the democratic rules , to present its factual and objective defense, under the terms of the Press Law and the Constitution of the Republic\u201d, he informed.<\/p>\n

It should be recalled that the Presidency of the Republic filed two complaints against the Directorate of Television of Cape Verde, to ARC, allegedly for the non-transmission of the New Year’s greetings from the President of the Republic, in a first instance, and for alleged discriminatory treatment in the coverage of an event audience, in which the TCV team would not have waited for the PR and transmitted their statements, as happened with the other entities present.<\/p>\n
