Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The Eucharistic celebration in honor of the patron saint of Tarrafal, Saint Amaro Abade, celebrated this Sunday, was presided over by Father Carlos Varela, who evoked him as a \u201cgreat disciple\u201d of Jesus and asked the faithful to follow his example.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the press moments before the mass celebrated with the presence of priests from other parishes of the Diocese of Santiago, the diocesan priest said that Saint Amaro Abade was a \u201cgreat disciple of Jesus, who sought throughout his life to imitate him and his teachings and propose them to the brothers\u201d.<\/p>\n

In this sense, he noted that this \u201cdiscipleship attitude, which marks our existence and relationship with our neighbor\u201d is the first and great lesson that all Christians and baptized can take from Saint Amaro Abade.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m going to leave a follow-up message, of letting Jesus find us and making our life a mission\u201d, said Father Carlos Varela.<\/p>\n
