The news was confirmed by his wife Bela Aguiar, to his friend and journalist Lui\u0301s Carvalho.<\/p>\n

According to the same, Colonel Eli\u0301sio Aguiar ended up dying at the Garcia Orta Hospital, Lisbon, practically at the moment he was being transferred to the Santa Maria Hospital, where he was being followed by specialists.<\/p>\n

\u201cMa\u0301rio Aguiar was a champion of the island of Santiago and Praia, his birthplace. He was also a critical voice in relation to the behavior of journalists and, when I tried to explain to him that things were not always the way he interpreted them, he came out with this: \u201cI understand.
