According to a note from the Cultural Heritage Institute (IPC) sent to Inforpress, this election aimed to ensure that each neighborhood has an \u201cactive mediator\u201d between those responsible for managing the site and the community, living up to axis I \u2013 Involvement, Participation and Social Cohesion, from the Management Plan for Cidade Velha, World Heritage, 2019\/2022, approved by Unesco.<\/p>\n

This procedure, which highlights the need for the involvement of the local population in the process of managing the historic site, proposes a new approach to integrating residents and inter-institutional articulation mechanisms.<\/p>\n
