Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>Gualberto do Rosa\u0301rio, economist and former government official, who has been very critical of the development process on his home island, said yesterday, in the city of Ribeira Brava, that the island \u201cis not doing well\u201d.<\/p>\n

This is not the first time that Gualberto do Rosa\u0301rio has drawn attention to the situation of local socio-economic development, and the problem of transport has been especially highlighted by him on social networks.<\/p>\n

This time, on the sidelines of the sixth meeting of the General Council of the National Association of Cape Verdean Municipalities, where he presented the panel \u201cStrategic Vision for the Development of Sa\u0303o Nicolau\u201d, he again warned that the island \u201cis not going well\u201d.<\/p>\n

Quoted by Inforpress, the former president of the Cabo Verde Chamber of Tourism recalled all the development potential that the island has, stressing that \u201cit is not an island to be considered peripheral\u201d, only.<\/p>\n

In his opinion, he said, it has many resources, both cultural and natural, mainly in the field of the maritime economy.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt has the two largest bays in Cape Verde, Sa\u0303o Jose\u0301 and Tarrafal, both very rich and lend themselves to various types of economic activities, but it also has the city of Ribeira Brava which has immense value in the tourist area\u201d, he highlighted.<\/p>\n
