Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The President of the Republic, Jose\u0301 Maria Neves, said this Thursday that he was chosen to lead the Natural and Cultural Heritage in Africa, noting that this choice represents \u201can enormous gain\u201d for Cabo Verde .<\/p>\n

The head of state made this announcement during the press conference on the assessment of his participation in the Extraordinary Conference of Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS and in the Second Conference of Heads of State and Government of the Climate Commission for the Sahel Region, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.<\/p>\n

Jose\u0301 Maria Neves, who will succeed the previous leader, the former president of Mali, Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, said that from now on he assumes the responsibility of leading this entire program for the preservation of the natural and cultural heritage on the African continent.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn fact, our continent has a very rich and diversified cultural heritage. It is home to treasures such as the pyramids of Egypt, monuments in Zimbabwe and mausoleums in Timbuktu, but this rich material and immaterial heritage, namely music, languages, dialects and all this heritage plays an important key role in building strong cultural identities and shared values across the continent,\u201d he declared.<\/p>\n
