Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The Biflores association expressed this Sunday its interest in establishing contact with scientists from the University of Lisbon (UL), in order to reforest endemic plants in an \u201corganized and coherent\u201d way.<\/p>\n

The information was advanced to Inforpress by the director of the environmental association, Dheeraj Jayant, explaining that this interest came after reading the scientific article \u201cImplications of climate change on the distribution and conservation of Cabo Verde endemic trees\u201d, written by Danilson Varela, Maria M Romeiras and Lui\u0301s Silva. He considered it \u201cvery important\u201d, taking into account the issue of climate change.<\/p>\n

According to the same source, as it is an environmental association and as it is developing projects aimed at the botanical survey of endemic plants and trees, but also the reforestation of endemic species in Brava, it is necessary to think in the long term, taking into account the climate change the world is experiencing.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a biodiversity conservation organization, the association has to engage a lot with the national and international scientific community so that reforestation has a meaning, and not run the risk of planting a species in an area that is not adaptable\u201d, advanced this responsibility.<\/p>\n
