Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The Secretary of State for Higher Education, Euri\u0301dice Monteiro, pointed out this Tuesday, in Lisbon, the issue of access, career development and scientific and social recognition as major concerns with gender and science.<\/p>\n

The minister was speaking during the conference on \u201cWomen and girls in science\u201d, which took place in a hybrid format, from the auditorium of the headquarters of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP). It aims to celebrate the \u201cimportance of full and equal access\u201d for women and girls to participation in science, technology and innovation, in the month in which the International Day of Women and Girls in Science is celebrated.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have three issues of concern about gender and science. These are the issue of access, the issue of career development and the issue of scientific and social recognition\u201d. She pointed out.<\/p>\n

When talking about the theme \u201cGender and Science in Cape Verde\u201d, Euri\u0301dice Monteiro explained that the issue of access has to do with the entire course of training, motivation and attraction to certain areas. It is important to emphasize there is a particularity that has to do with the social and cultural contexts that determine, or in a certain way, influence the choices.<\/p>\n
