Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The Deputy Prime Minister, Olavo Correia, defended this Monday the need and adoption of a diplomatic strategy in order to defend the specificities of Cape Verde in the context of the implementation of the African Free Trade Zone (Zelecaf).<\/p>\n

\u201cWe must always seek to defend our interests. Cape Verde is an archipelagic country and a specific country in the context of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and we must have a strategy at the level of Cape Verdean diplomacy to defend the specificities of Cape Verde\u201d, he defended.<\/p>\n

Olavo Correia, who was speaking to the press after a meeting with a delegation of seven administrators from the African Development Bank (AfDB), which today began a mission to Cape Verde, recognized, however, that it would not be easy, as it is a small island country and archipelago in ECOWAS, having their own specificities, have a strategy to defend them.<\/p>\n
