Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The judge Rosa Vicente considered, this Tuesday, that the functioning of the Constitutional Court (TC) with a minimum of three magistrates is \u201ccomplicated\u201d and that there must be a more rigorous filter in the admissibility of the support resource.<\/p>\n

Rosa Vicente made these statements during the hearing of the Specialized Commission on Constitutional Affairs, Human Rights, Security and State Reform as a candidate for the position of first Alternate Judge of the Constitutional Court, within the scope of the election of bodies external to parliament.<\/p>\n

According to her, the greatest difficulty of the TC, with regard to its operation, has to do with the fact that it has a minimum of three judges, stressing that, considering the fundamental matters there is a need for the body to work with more judges.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe minimum is complicated, we\u2019ve had situations where we had two votes against one so having a plenary with at least five for fundamental issues would be good\u201d, she reinforced.<\/p>\n

She assured that, taking into account the competences of the body, they should make a more rigorous filter in the admissibility of this type of appeal so that they can have time and availability for the truly main issues.<\/p>\n
