Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>Matchu\u0301 Lopes, a Cape Verdean who represents the colors of the Spanish flag, won this afternoon against Mitu\u0301 Monteiro, in the final of the 1st Stage of the 2023 Kitesurf World Cup, held at Ponta Preta beach, in Santa Maria.<\/p>\n

The Creole naturalized Spanish, Matchu\u0301 Lopes starred in a fight of giants with Mitu\u0301 Monteiro, having won the title with the sum of 12.87 points against 9.97 of Monteiro, in a clash marked, however, by the lack of waves up to the demands of the world cup.<\/p>\n

Matchu\u0301 Lopes was happy, in the final, for winning \u201cat home\u201d, Santa Maria, and for having played in the final against Mitu\u0301 Monteiro, with whom, he said, \u201che learned to work in the water\u201d.<\/p>\n

The athlete recalled that Mitu Monteiro, who came in second, supported him in everything and that this emotion is priceless, even if the waves were not up to the desired level.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis title is in Cape Verde, on the island of Sal\u201d, said Matchu\u0301 Lopes, waving the flags of Cape Verde and Spain. The athlete was applauded by the great human frame that, enthusiastically, celebrated together with the winner of this stage.<\/p>\n

Airton in third<\/p>\n

Already in third place was another Creole, this time naturalized Italian, Airton Cozzolino, leaving Brazilian Pedro Matos on the way.<\/p>\n

It should be noted that in the race to the final, Mitu\u0301 Monteiro and Ailton Cozzolino starred in the duel of this World Cup held by the \u201cGKA Kitesurf World Cup Cabo Verde’2023, as the two did everything in the waves of Ponta Preta for the victory, with the triumph smile at Monteiro.<\/p>\n
