Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The African Party for the Independence of Cape Verde (PAICV-opposition) suggested that the government finance the land registry of Praia municipality in order to avoid scandals caused by usurpation of land ownership.<\/p>\n

This suggestion was made by the president of PAICV, Rui Semedo, after a meeting with the president of the Praia Municipal Council (PAICV), Francisco Carvalho, where, as he said, the \u201cissue that has caused a lot of discussion\u201d was specifically addressed, which is the use of urban spaces and land lots.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know that there was a big scandal around land in the municipal territory of Praia, it is in the courts and the whole national territory knows it, all Cape Verdeans here and in the Diaspora know that there was a big scandal around usurpation of land ownership or possession,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

In this regard, Rui Semedo stated that it is necessary to \u201ctake great care in Praia\u201d to solve this problem because it has been found that large areas of land are or have been claimed by holders who are not the owners.<\/p>\n
