Vulca\u0302nico depends solely on itself, while Acade\u0301mica, in addition to winning, needs to root for Vulca\u0302nico’s defeat against Valencia.<\/p>\n

Vulca\u0302nico face the team from Valencia, ranked eighth, at the Sa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o ground, while Acade\u0301mica travels to the Monte Pelado stadium, in Santa Catarina do Fogo, to face the relegated Desportivo de Cova Figueira, last ranked in the table.<\/p>\n

Vulca\u0302nico depends only on itself to win its 13th title of regional champion of Fogo, in the year in which it will celebrate the 70th anniversary of its foundation, while Acade\u0301mica, in addition to winning its game, will have to wait for Vulca\u0302nico to slip up in the field of Sa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o.<\/p>\n

Theoretically, the two teams are separated by three points, 42 for the leader Vulca\u0302nico and 39 for the vice-leader, Acade\u0301mica, which assumes that a draw will be enough for Vulca\u0302nico to be crowned regional champion of Fogo’s first-level football.<\/p>\n

Academic can protest previous game<\/p>\n

The formation of Acade\u0301mica, which conceded a two-goal draw with Grito Povo in the previous round and, consequently, lost two points in relation to the leader, does not rule out the possibility of protesting against Grito Povo for the irregular use of a player and recover the two lost points.<\/p>\n

So far, the formation of Acade\u0301mica has not filed a protest with the Jurisdictional Council of the Regional Football Association of Fogo, but a leader of this sports association told Inforpress that if it proves to be necessary and the two points allow the team to win the title, Acade\u0301mica will protest the game, if Vulca\u0302nico’s formation does not beat Valencia in the final round.<\/p>\n
