Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>Residents of Safende, in the city of Praia, say they are outraged by the company A\u0301guas de Santiago (ADS) since they have been without water in the network for over a month. They ask for the situation to be rectified as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

In an interview with A NAC\u0327A\u0303O, a resident in the vicinity of Espac\u0327o Aberto Safende said that, without water in the network for over a month, they tried to contact the company several times, to find out what had been going on but that there has been no explanation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey send technicians, who then leave without giving us any explanation. Then another comes along and does the same thing. And we are left here not knowing what the problem is and when it will be solved\u201d, says the same source.<\/p>\n

ADS \u201cBad Satisfaction\u201d<\/p>\n

In the last approach, according to her, one of the ADS workers was unhappy because he was asked for some satisfaction.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe advanced that the problems were caused by interventions made on the road, by the City Council of Praia that cut the water pipes. And that if we want water in the network again, we would have to go to the council and ask them to solve the problem\u201d, says our interviewee.<\/p>\n

“Meaningless”<\/p>\n

She says that the satisfaction given by the technician makes no sense since \u201cwho should charge the CMP is the ADS company and not the residents\u201d.<\/p>\n

While the situation is not resolved, it says that it has been helped by neighbors with cisterns and by cars with tanks.<\/p>\n

Mains water at night<\/p>\n

Other residents heard by this reporting team said that in some parts of the community water is available from the network twice a week, for a few hours at night, a situation that also generates discontent.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot everyone knows that, so they can’t get water. ADS cannot stipulate when we should have or not have Water. They just want to raise the price on invoices and don’t even care about user satisfaction,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n

Outraged, the population speaks of lack of respect and asks that the situation be resolved as soon as possible since \u201cwe pay and we have to enjoy it\u201d.<\/p>\n
