The president of the Qatar Sport Clube Association, Carlos Morais, better known as Calo\u0301 Iche, explained that the coming of Sporting de Portugal to Cape Verde is the fulfillment of a \u201cdesire and a dream\u201d.<\/p>\n

Likewise, it is a way of thanking all the athletes at Sporting and the neighborhood of Achada de Santo Anto\u0301nio for everything they have done for football in Praia and in Cape Verde.<\/p>\n

The game also served to honor Isabel Lima, former president of Sporting da Praia, who died about three months ago, and to raise funds for former footballer Zequinha, who was recently diagnosed with cancer.<\/p>\n

New game on Thursday<\/p>\n

The old glories of Sporting will have a second game on Thursday, 18 May, against the Veteranos da Praia team, at Esta\u0301dio da Va\u0301rzea, at 4 pm.<\/p>\n
