Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The Secretary of State Assistant to the Prime Minister said today that the media plays a \u201cstrategic role\u201d in promoting gender equality in Cabo Verde.<\/p>\n

Lourenc\u0327o Lopes made these statements at the opening of the workshop on the topic \u201cImportance of communication in promoting gender equality\u201d, promoted by the Cape Verdean Association for the Combat Against Gender-Based Violence (ACLCVBG), within the scope of the V Week of Reflection on Gender-Based Violence (GBV).<\/p>\n

The government official, in his speech, highlighted the gains that Cabo Verde has achieved in terms of promoting and guaranteeing gender equality, considering, however, that, despite the results, there is still a need for continuous and daily work by all in meeting the objectives.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Media professionals assume themselves as one of the main mediators between public authorities, social organizations and society itself, the media are assuming an increasingly central role in people\u2019s lives and in the formation of public opinion, especially in these times\u201d , he declared.<\/p>\n
