Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The chairman of the board of directors (PCA) of TACV\/Cabo Verde Airlines (CVA) today confirmed her interest in resuming flights to Bissau, ten years after its suspension. There is also the intention of returning to other destinations in Africa .<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are preparing the recovery in several destinations. Bissau is one of the destinations that Cabo Verde Airlines intends to operate. At the moment we are listening to Bissau-Guinean entities to resume flights\u201d, said Sara Pires, in statements to the press, on the sidelines of a meeting held with travel agencies in the city of Praia to talk about the company\u2019s commercial strategy and also appeal to the travel agencies to sell the CVA product.<\/p>\n

TACV was sold (51%) to Icelandic investors and renationalized in July 2021, due to the covid-19 pandemic, having only resumed flights in December 2021.<\/p>\n

In March 2019, the State of Cape Verde sold 51% of TACV for 1.3 million euros to Lofleidir Cabo Verde, a company 70% owned by Loftleidir Icelandic EHF (Icelandair group, which took 36% of Cabo Verde Airlines \u2013 company’s trade name) and 30% by Icelandic entrepreneurs with experience in the aviation sector (who took over the remaining 15% of the privatized 51% share).<\/p>\n
