Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The President of the Republic, Jose\u0301 Maria Neves, said today, in Luxembourg, that Cabo Verde has chosen the construction of a blue economy as one of its top priorities, through various sectors, such as sustainable fishing.<\/p>\n

The statement was made during a visit to the University of Luxembourg, as part of his State visit to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, from 23 to 25 May, at the invitation of Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, having recalled that Cabo Verde has demonstrated that development is possible with few or no resources.<\/p>\n

The construction of a blue economy, the energy transition and the use of digital economy are the pillars that Jose\u0301 Maria Neves identified as necessary to diversify and transform the economy in a sustainable way.<\/p>\n

\u201cCabo Verde chose the construction of a blue economy as one of its first priorities\u201d, he said, considering that as a small island state, the natural resources of the archipelago \u201care an invaluable source of wealth\u201d and the oceans and seas \u201coffer a vast potential for sustainable economic development\u201d.<\/p>\n
