Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The coordinator of the local political commission of the Movement for Democracy (MpD) in Sao Vicente, said today in Mindelo that there was a lack of transparency in the making of lists for the party\u2019s 13th National Convention.<\/p>\n

For this reason, Armindo Gomes does not participate in the National Convention of his party that takes place in Praia, the first after the re-election of Ulisses Correia e Silva as the president of the party that supports the governance.<\/p>\n

According to Armindo Gomes \u201cthere will be a National Convention, which is the highest body of the party, but there will be no pluralism, debate, nor the participation of other currents that may exist in the party\u201d.<\/p>\n

This is because, he explained, the internal elections \u201cwere not what was desirable\u201d because many militants \u201cdid not understand the reasons\u201d for having \u201cmixed elections for the leadership of the party\u201d with \u201celections for choosing the head of the list for the convention\u201d.<\/p>\n
