Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The City Hall of S\u00e3o Filipe promotes the holding of a contest to reward a short film about \u201cS\u00e3o Filipe centennary city\u201d, in the programming framework of the centenary of the elevation of S\u00e3o Filipe to the category of city.<\/p>\n

The contest has national coverage and the Cabo Verdean Diaspora and aims to production of a short film, up to 26 minutes, maximum, in Creole or Portuguese, and the applications runs from February 2 to April 16.<\/p>\n

The contest aims to make known the cultural, economic, environmental and social potential of the city of S\u00e3o Filipe and to enhance the culture, traditions, habits and customs of the city and its people, in addition to encouraging new film producers, whether on the islands as in the Diaspora.<\/p>\n

The Councilwoman for Culture, Lia Barbosa, announced to Inforpress that the idea is to promote more film producers in the municipality and as a way to disseminate the culture, tourist aspects, both of the city and the municipality, and this first edition will be dedicated to the city because it celebrates 100 years.<\/p>\n
