Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The mare Marisia, ridden by the jockey Bilick da Luz, from Porto Novo, won for the second consecutive time the horse race in the municipality of Paul, as part of the festivities of the day of the municipality and of Santo Anto\u0301nio das Pombas.<\/p>\n

Niamy, ridden by jockey Ke\u0301ke\u0301, also from Porto Novo, was in 2nd place and U\u0301nica, ridden by Jockey Leo Ferreira, took 3rd place.<\/p>\n

In fourth place was the horse Tranka, in fifth place was Suihara, sixth Ryder, seventh place Prince, in eighth place Queen and Naitoby was in last place.<\/p>\n

16 horses in competition<\/p>\n

The leader of the E\u0301gua Branca Equestrian Association (Hipiegua), Tito Pires, said that there were 18 horses that were going to participate, but only two ended up giving up.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, according to the same source, having 16 horses competing shows that equestrianism in Santo Anta\u0303o is growing.<\/p>\n

The horse race was sponsored by the Municipality of Paul, in partnership with other entities, in honor of Epifa\u0302nio Ferreira, who died in April, and who was a great promoter of equestrianism in Santo Anta\u0303o.<\/p>\n
