Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Agriculture and Environment, Gilberto Silva, said today that expectations are for a \u201cnormal\u201d agricultural year and assured that the Government will give full support to farmers in the preparation and during the 2023-2024 agricultural year.<\/p>\n

The minister made these statements to the press, when asked about the Government\u2019s perspectives for the 2022-2023 agricultural year, on the sidelines of a meeting between the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (MAA) and the organizations of United Nations for Food and Agriculture (FAO) to assess and discuss projects, within the framework of Cabo Verde \u2013 MAA \u2013 FAO cooperation.<\/p>\n

The meeting, which took place at the headquarters of the National Institute for Agricultural Research and Development (INIDA) in Sa\u0303o Jorge, in the municipality of Sa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o dos O\u0301rga\u0303os (Santiago island), was attended by the FAO representative in Cabo Verde, Ana Touza.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Ministry of Agriculture and Environment will obviously support farmers as always\u201d, he assured, clarifying that \u201csupport is not donating things\u201d.<\/p>\n
