Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>An inter-ministerial technical commission is in Guinea-Bissau, from the 15th to the 26th of July, to continue the process of attributing nationality of origin to communities of Cape Verdean descent in Africa. The initiative is part of the \u201cWe are all Cape Verde\u201d program.<\/p>\n

In Guinea-Bissau, the commission will be in Bambandinca, Bafata\u0301, Gabu\u0301, Sonaco, Farim, Mansoa, Bissora, Mansaba, Cantchungo, Cacheu, Bissau and Balama.<\/p>\n

The Technical Commission is made up of the Registrar of Records, the Assistant Registrar, Identification Notary, staff from the Directorate of Emigration and Borders of the National Police and technicians from the Ministry of Communities, and is in charge of preparing and instructing the processes.<\/p>\n

Exemption from fees<\/p>\n

The Program runs from January to December 31 of the current year, exempt from any consular fees and other costs related to issuing the first National Identification Card and Passport.<\/p>\n

Well, the Government believes that descendants born in the Diaspora carry Cape Verdean blood, our language and our entire culture. \u201cThey are Cape Verdeans in body and soul, so they also deserve the nationality of their country\u201d.<\/p>\n

The first, second and third generations of Cape Verdean Communities on the African Continent can now apply for their Nationality of origin free of charge and free of any consular fees and even other costs related to issuing the first National Identification Card and Passport .<\/p>\n
