Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The rain that fell last weekend brought motivation and renewed hope to the farmers of the Santiago Norte region, even though it did not fall with intensity and \u201cwet the ground\u201d completely in some municipalities.<\/p>\n

Inforpress, in a round made to some areas of the municipalities of North Santiago, namely Sa\u0303o Salvador do Mundo and Santa Catarina, found that farmers who had not thrown the seeds into the ground in late June or early July started this Monday to agricultural work.<\/p>\n

In Santa Catarina, in the localities of Ribeira\u0303o Manuel and Cha\u0303 de Tanque, the men and women of the field have already started the first weeding, hoping that in the coming days there will be more precipitation.<\/p>\n

However, throughout the region, there are peasants who are waiting for more rain to throw seeds on the ground, fearing the invasion of wild hens and crows, which, according to them, are already eating the seeds in the holes.<\/p>\n
