\u201cFunana\u0301, according to history, is a musical genre that was born in the interior of Santiago, more specifically in the municipality of Santa Cruz, so we want funana\u0301 to be institutionalised,\u201d Carlos Silva told Inforpress, regarding a meeting \/ debate on funana\u0301, which takes place this Tuesday, 08, as part of the celebration of Katcha\u0301s Day in Santa Cruz.<\/p>\n

The event, held in partnership with the Institute of Cultural Heritage (IPC), aims to collect subsidies for the candidature of Pedra Badejo to the capital of funana\u0301 and the classification of this musical genre as national intangible cultural heritage.<\/p>\n

The Katcha\u0301s Day in Santa Cruz, according to the mayor, aims to \u201cremember and honour\u201d the man who is considered the \u201cKing of Funana\u0301\u201d, who, if he was alive, would be 72 years old this Tuesday, August 8.<\/p>\n
