Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The Government approved the legal regime for the social and strategic environmental assessment of plans and programs that defines as a basis the implementation of policies to protect the environment and natural resources in Cabo Verde.<\/p>\n

Decree-law 23\/2023 published in the Official Bulletin establishes as a principle the promotion of sustainable development and the preservation of the country\u2019s environmental heritage, as well as public health and social well-being, especially, he specified, with regard to projects and work that impacts the environment and the quality of life of citizens.<\/p>\n

In the environmental impact assessment regime, approved by decree-law 27, on March 19, 2020, preventive and corrective measures were adopted to minimize the negative impacts on the activity.<\/p>\n

However, he said, there was no inclusion of strategic plans and programs for medium and long-term projection of development that would provide a framework for projects for the physical materialization that implement public and private investments within the framework of the projected development.<\/p>\n
