Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>EPIF, a football school in Praia, is the national football champion at the under-19 level. The title was won yesterday, by beating Batuque de Sa\u0303o Vicente 2-1, in the final of this first competition played at the National Stadium, in the capital.<\/p>\n

According to Inforpress, in a match in which EPIF demonstrated greater physical power and consistency, under the leadership of captain Mangala, the scoring was opened in the 34th minute through striker Mauro, after a good play by that team.<\/p>\n

Going into the break, EFIP closed the first half with greater possession of the ball and Batuque with some timid arrivals in a very supported and technical football, which had the most dangerous element in striker Djelane.<\/p>\n

In the second half, Batuque appeared more confident, but it was EPIF, in the 61st minute, who made it 2-0, through Tibau, who had just entered.<\/p>\n

When everything pointed to a peaceful outcome to the match, Batuque reduced the score through Djelane, a deserved goal for the striker and for the Sanvicentinos, who demonstrated their desire to score throughout the match.<\/p>\n

The meeting ended under the sign of uncertainty, but with the EPIF closer to 3-1 than Batuque to the draw.<\/p>\n

Individual duels<\/p>\n

At the end of the match, Batuque’s coach, Nhela, said that his team lost this final in \u201cindividual duels\u201d, highlighting the greater physical power of the opposing players.<\/p>\n

After congratulating EPIF on the victory, Nhela said that this competition served to promote his players for Batuque’s main team.<\/p>\n

In turn, Odair Rodrigues, EPIF coach, said that the objective was achieved, that is, winning the championship, and praised the quality of the players present.<\/p>\n

The first edition of the national championship at the under-19 level saw the participation of four teams from the same number of sporting regions, namely EPIF da Praia, Sporting da Boa Vista, Menifute do Sal and Batuque de Sa\u0303o Vicente.<\/p>\n

The race was disputed in the all-against-all system, one lap, and the first two classified went to the final.<\/p>\n
