Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The president of the UCID declared today, in a press conference, in Mindelo, that the mayor of Sa\u0303o Vicente, Augusto Neves, if he were living in another country, \u201che would be in jail for harmful management\u201d of municipal heritage.<\/p>\n

Joa\u0303o Santos Lui\u0301s, president of the Independent and Democratic Cape Verdean Union (UCID), responded to Neves\u2019 accusation the day before, also at a press conference, according to which the UCID has hampered municipal action, in a \u201cclear persecution\u201d and \u201cattempt to overthrow the council\u201d, all as a result of the loss of the municipal budget for 2024.<\/p>\n

\u201cAny citizen who reads the audit of the city council\u2019s management, and in a country where things worked properly, Augusto Neves should be held criminally responsible, sitting in the dock and in jail for damaging management,\u201d said Santos Lui\u0301s, for whom this doesn\u2019t happen because \u201cwe are in a country like Cape Verde where things don\u2019t work properly\u201d.<\/p>\n
