Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>Paediatrician Yorleydis Rosabal, of the National Health Directorate (DNS), highlighted today in Santa Catarina the \u201cessential role\u201d of patients, families and carers in securing health care that is \u201cfair and accessible\u201d.<\/p>\n

Yorleydis Rosabal spoke on behalf of the National Director of Health at the central event of the celebrations of World Patient Safety Day, which was celebrated on the 17th, under the motto \u201cInvolving patients for patient safety\u201d, organized by DNS, through of the National Patient Safety Program.<\/p>\n

In addition to today\u2019s central event in Santiago Norte, in the municipality of Santa Catarina, aiming to involve the patient and family in care, the anniversary has been celebrated with several activities at national level, which began in early September, with lectures, webinar and home visits.<\/p>\n

As she said, taking into account that the first step is not to cause harm in the provision of medical and nursing care, he recalled that patient safety is an essential component in strengthening the health system to achieve national coverage and, above all, safe healthcare.<\/p>\n
