Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The chief health officer of the municipality of Tarrafal de Sa\u0303o Nicolau, Anto\u0301nio Diniz, considered the problem of suicide in the municipality \u201d concerning\u201d, as the number of cases is \u201d over of national average\u201d.<\/p>\n

Anto\u0301nio Diniz, who was speaking in connection with the \u201cYellow September\u201d programme, a month of suicide prevention, said that although this year the municipality has not registered any cases, \u201conly attempts\u201d, the number of suicide cases in the municipality has been to increase.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe situation in the municipality is shocking, in Cabo Verde we have an average of 50 cases of suicide a year and in 2022, in Tarrafal, we registered six cases, which when compared to the number of people is really shocking,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
