Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>It’s now official: The commander of the National Police Station in the municipality of Porto Novo, Benvindo Chantre, suffered an attack perpetrated by a hooded individual, Inforpress learned today from a police source. Armed with a machete and dagger, the alleged criminal was arrested and will face court.<\/p>\n

\nAccording to Inforpress, the source explained that the attack took place on Friday around 11:00 pm in front of the residence of the Police Station commander who, even so, managed to immobilize the individual, who was equipped with a machete and a dagger.<\/p>\n

The 34-year-old individual was present in court this Saturday for the adoption of a coercive measure, having been released, but must report to the police station twice a week, the same source explained.<\/p>\n

The accused is also prohibited from having any contact with the commander of the Porto Novo Police Station.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Inforpress learned from the Porto Novo National Police Station that, in recent days, seven individuals were arrested on charges of robbery on public roads and robbery in residences, all of whom are in pre-trial detention.<\/p>\n
