\nBorn on the island of Sal, son of the well-known Sabino \u00c9vora, now deceased, and Dona Rosinha, Paulo \u00c9vora, better known as Pulita in Salense circles, expressed his passion for archives, records and memories, in an interview with Inforpress, regarding a documentary he made about the 67 years of the Igreja do Nazareno do Sal, broadcast on Sunday, 15th, in the Espargos congregation at the same time as that of S\u00e3o Vicente.<\/p>\n

\u201cArchiving, cataloguing, classifying, ordering, saving (\u2026) was my first task when I started working at the Cape Verde Radiotelevision Delegation (RTC), in Sal, 37 years ago, where Fernando Carrilho made me identify all discs. \u201cWhen I went to television it was the same thing. I have a strong legacy in my house, an archive of many DVDs, old and modern cassettes, external disks… everything saved\u201d, he revived, noting that when an elderly person dies on the island, especially if they have a record of them or not, they are left sad and upset, because, as he expressed, \u201ctogether it was also a story\u201d.<\/p>\n

As an example, he says that from family records, when his nephews turn 10, he offers them a DVD with his most different moments, since their birth.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are enchanted, amazed. They find it interesting to see their figures and adventures when they were younger. For me, the archive is fundamental. It’s a shame I started using a film camera late. If I had had the opportunity for training as soon as I joined television (\u2026) I could have had many more memories about the island of Sal. But I’ll follow along\u201d, she commented.<\/p>\n

Aged 57, a television employee for 37 years and a camera operator for 28 years, Paulo \u00c9vora said he likes his profession and what he does so much that he also created his TV Pulita, on his Facebook page, \u201cinforming, encouraging and entertaining\u201d people .<\/p>\n
