Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span> The Minister of the Sea said the Government wants to transform the fishing sector, changing mentalities and practices, being committed to offering a set of training and financing, but outside the logic of \u201csubsidy or dependence\u201d of the sector.<\/p>\n

Abra\u00e3o Vicente, who spoke to the press after his first visit to the island, while responsible for the Sea portfolio, assured that the Executive intends to \u201cincrease\u201d the sector \u201cresilience\u201d capacity, making the main actors, who work individually, understand the great economic \u201cadded value\u201d of the sector.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is important to engage the populations because we will break with the idea that we are the Ministry which offers boats and engines,\u201d said the same source, for those who continue in this \u201cperspective\u201d do not \u201cget\u201d anywhere.<\/p>\n

The governor added the need to focus on freezing fish in the \u201cmedium\/long term\u201d and other conservation techniques, including drying and placing it on the markets of other islands.<\/p>\n
