Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>Dry winds that have occurred in Santo Anta\u0303o in recent days are damaging corn and bean plantations in the Eastern Plateau, to the dismay of farmers.<\/p>\n

According to the farmers cited by Inforpress, the recent rains have renewed families’ hopes for good production, but the dry winds have \u201c greatly conditioned \u201d the crops in recent days, although they are \u201c looking good \u201d.<\/p>\n

The farmer and president of the Luz Viva Community Association, in Lagoa do Planalto Leste, Alberto Silva, told Inforpress that despite these constraints \u201cthe plantations are holding up \u201d, looking \u201c in good shape \u201d so far.<\/p>\n

Even with the bad weather and despite the existence of the corn fall armyworm pest, Alberto Silva said he believes that \u201c this year will be better than 2022\u201d, warning, however, of \u201can unknown pest \u201d that is attacking the bean plantations.<\/p>\n
