In her speech at the opening of the first edition of the Summit of the Superior Councils of Justice of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), held in the city of Praia, Cristina Andrade highlighted the challenges posed by the covid-19 pandemic, reiterating that these require the Government, modern and efficient institutions that allow responding to the dynamics of this new reality.<\/p>\n

A reality that is in constant transformation, he highlighted, highlighting that the use of new technologies in the organization and formation of the judicial system is fundamental, which therefore reveals not only its relevance, but also its relevance.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnfortunately, as you know, we still see countries whose justice system is characterized by slowness, difficult access, complex and outdated laws that prevent, however, their applicability, especially for the benefit of citizens\u201d, he criticized, highlighting the clear evidence of the judicial power in the production of goods and services and sustainable development.<\/p>\n

According to her, Cape Verde, by prioritizing digitalization as one of the accelerators in its Sustainable Development Plan, enabled relevant reforms in the justice sector, which aim, above all, to consolidate the rule of law, modernize judicial structures and improve the performance of the system.<\/p>\n

The commitment to judicial management constitutes a challenge embraced by member states both legally and operationally, highlighted Cristina Andrade, ensuring that Cape Verde’s effort represents a strategic response to the persistent challenges still faced by the system, particularly linked to slow administration judicial process combined with the trend of increasing cases.<\/p>\n

\u201cUNODC, the Cape Verde office, has been following the efforts that Cape Verde has made in the development and implementation of the justice computerization system (SIJ), an innovative project whose purpose lies in promoting greater efficiency and speed in processing as well as in achievement of justice\u201d, he maintained.<\/p>\n
