According to news published by the online newspaper Santiago Magazine, the national director of the Judiciary Police resigned from her position on Monday, 20th, a few days after completing a year in office, being the basis of Ivanilda Mascarenhas Varela’s decision, \u201cincompatibilities with the Minister of Justice Joana Rosa\u201d. Subsequently, the deputy national director, Heidmilson Frederico, also asked for his dismissal.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere cannot be any interference from an investigative point of view, from the minister, because neither the minister carries out the investigation nor the national director of the Judiciary Police carries out the investigation. Everyone will know about the investigation at the Judiciary Police, it is carried out by inspectors and their respective coordinators, under the coordination of the Public Ministry itself, which is responsible for the criminal action\u201d, she argued.<\/p>\n
