Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The University of Cape Verde (Uni-CV) is promoting, this Tuesday, 28th, in the city of Praia, a workshop entitled \u201cResponsible artificial intelligence in promoting diversity and sustainable development in ECOWAS\u201d.<\/p>\n

In a statement, Uni-CV explains that the Responsible Artificial Intelligence Lab (RAIL) aims to take the first step in establishing a sustainable approach to encourage local talent to get involved in research , in innovation and the development of multidisciplinary and responsible artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n

RAIL, according to the note, aims to promote the creation of a consortium that currently involves Cape Verde, Senegal and Ghana, indicating that it is based in Ghana, at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, and has satellite laboratories in Cape Verde in University of Cape Verde and in Senegal, at the Universite\u0301 Cheikh Anta Diop in Dakar.<\/p>\n

The workshop on responsible artificial intelligence in promoting diversity and sustainable development in the Community of West African States (ECOWAS) aims to publicize this consortium, the activities developed, ongoing initiatives and future perspectives.<\/p>\n

It will also address the various applications of artificial intelligence, present the solutions adopted for their responsible implementation and point out ways to minimize the challenges that still remain in the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI).<\/p>\n

\u201cArtificial Intelligence (AI) is an extremely important and rapidly evolving area that has the potential to revolutionize our world. The successful integration and adoption of AI, often in combination with other innovative technologies in the health, energy, agriculture and food sectors, can play an essential role in helping sub-Saharan African countries achieve their sustainable development\u201d, the note reads.<\/p>\n

Two delegations will be present at the workshop, one from Senegal and the other from Ghana. In addition to them, the event has two remote participations from Germany (Technical University of Munich).<\/p>\n

Institutions based in Cape Verde that are interested in the topic of artificial intelligence and its implications are invited to participate in the activity.<\/p>\n
