Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The PAICV bench in the Santa Cruz Municipal Assembly today refuted the MpD’s accusations about the lack of transparency and illegalities in the Santa Cruz City Council, claiming that everything is taking place within \u201c normality \u201d.<\/p>\n

These considerations were made by the leader of the municipal bench of the Cape Verde African Independence Party (PAICV) in Santa Cruz, Teresa Silva, at a press conference in Praia, to \u201crestore the truth of the facts\u201d about the bench’s accusation of the MpD in the Municipal Assembly of Santa Cruz, who accused the local municipal council of a lack of transparency and illegalities in several sectors.<\/p>\n

According to Teresa Silva, it does not correspond to the truth that the ordinary sessions took place once, in April, refuting that this year there were two sessions, with all management instruments, duly approved and appreciated by the Municipal Assembly and approved by the Court of Auditors .<\/p>\n

Regarding the accident involving the Mayor’s car, the same source clarified that the accident happened on September 17th, in broad daylight, around 10:00 when the driver was on a service mission to Nelson International Airport. Teresa Silva also clarified in this aspect that the decision to acquire the new vehicle from the president of the Santa Cruz City Council \u201chas no\u201d connection with the accident, because, as she explained, the vehicle was acquired long before the accident.<\/p>\n

Regarding the situation of the employees of this entity, it informed that it is already known to the public that at the beginning of next year the salary update of the employees of this municipal council will be carried out.<\/p>\n

Regarding the Vit\u00f3ria Santiago project, the bench said that it is a public-private partnership with the company Vit\u00f3ria Constru\u00e7\u00f5es, which aims to revolutionize the urbanization policy in the municipality of Santa Cruz, remembering that at the moment, it is in the completion of the preparation of the detailed plan which, once completed, will be submitted to the Municipal Assembly for approval.<\/p>\n

He continued that, when it comes to urban requalification, Pedra Badejo is not the city of dreams, but this council team remains focused on its transformation through the implementation of its ambitious urban requalification program.<\/p>\n

Finally, the PAICV bench appealed to the MpD bench to reason, common sense and reasonableness in supporting Santa Cruz, with initiatives that aim to advance this community and municipality, instead of trying to obstruct it without solid justifications, especially with \u201cuntruths and inventions\u201d.<\/p>\n
