Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The Black Panthers Youth Association plans to implement, from 2024, an \u201cambitious\u201d project that aims to provide sustainability to the most vulnerable families in Va\u0301rzea and contribute to the elimination of extreme poverty in that neighborhood.<\/p>\n

To Inforpress, the president of the board of directors of this association, Alcides Amarante, said that the plan is already predefined and they are now mobilizing partnerships for this purpose.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause in fact we have families that need to be sustainable, they need basic food baskets for today and tomorrow, but then they sit idly by. So we have a plan, the idea is to give them sustainability and contribute to eliminating extreme poverty in Va\u0301rzea,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

In practice, he clarified, they intend to invest heavily in training even for people with low education, who studied up to the fourth grade or 9th year of schooling, for example, because from their perspective, everyone needs opportunities.<\/p>\n

To this end, he said, in January the Black Panthers Association has a meeting scheduled with the Employment and Professional Training Institute (IEFP) taking into account that 50 people from this neighborhood have already been selected, in different areas, including young people who have already completed the 12th grade. year, to outline which course they can be included in.<\/p>\n

Likewise, said Alcides Amarante, 40 families are pre-selected to be supported in terms of microfinance, especially women who carry out informal work, after receiving training, to later have financial autonomy.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo next year will be a year of strong focus on training and creating income for families, thus being able to free them from the state of poverty that we experience in the community\u201d, he maintained.<\/p>\n

Taking into account that the Government’s goal is to eliminate extreme poverty in the country by 2026, the Black Panthers Association intends to present this concern to the Government, so that the population of Va\u0301rzea is not left behind and dependent only on support obtained through of partners.<\/p>\n
