Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The General Labor Inspectorate (IGT) already has a notice circulating alerting employers to the obligation to update the national minimum wage for the year 2024, which has seen an increase of around 1,000 escudos.<\/p>\n

As part of the income and price policy in the budget for 2024, the Government increased the minimum wage in the public sector from 15 thousand escudos to 16 thousand escudos and from 14 thousand escudos to 15 thousand escudos for workers in the private sector from this month of January .<\/p>\n

The legislation that establishes the guaranteed minimum monthly remuneration owed to employees, as long as they are subject to the normal working period, indicates that the defined amount does not include subsidies, bonuses, bonuses or other benefits.<\/p>\n

The same legislation states that the payment of wages below the value defined for the national minimum wage constitutes \u201ca very serious offense\u201d punishable by fines ranging from 5,000 escudos to 100,000 escudos, plus the value of the difference between the values.<\/p>\n
