Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The president of the Santa Catarina do Fogo City Council, Alberto Nunes, classified the actions carried out in 2023 as \u201cpositive\u201d, despite the internal and external constraints and which had consequences for the execution of the activity plan.\u201cDespite the constraints, the chamber managed to materialize a good part of the actions contained in the activity plan destined for the year 2023 and with a focus on the social sector\u201d, he told Inforpress, highlighting that the constraints conditioned the collection of revenues planned for 2023.<\/p>\n

Continuity of electrification work in Cha\u0303 das Caldeiras, completion of the rehabilitation of eight social housing units in various locations, start of asphalting in the city of Cova Figueira, opening of the Emigrant Support Office, inauguration of the children’s playground and installation of an ATM m Achada Furna, the beginning of the construction of the Base Sanitary Unit (USB) in Cha\u0303 das Caldeiras and the construction of Prac\u0327a de Fonte Aleixo were cited as examples.<\/p>\n

The list also includes intervention on roads damaged following the rains, support for breeders with improved breeds and transport of pastures, production and distribution of thousands of fruit plants, support for professional training for dozens of young people, requalification of the Youth Center, rehabilitation from the Cova Figueira Health Center, support for low-income families with medicines, evacuations, medical examinations, funeral subsidies, glasses and support for 300 women in cervical cancer screening.<\/p>\n

For the year 2024, the last of this mandate, Alberto Nunes’ team intends to build Casas dos Pescadores, in Faja\u0303, rehabilitate the Domingos Lobo\/Casinha\/Faja\u0303 and Alcatraz roads and from Fonte Aleixo to Farapo\u0301, creating better access conditions to Tre\u0302s Baias.<\/p>\n

The construction of two sports boards from scratch and the rehabilitation of another, the construction of the Fonte Aleixo and Esta\u0302ncia Roque squares, completion of the rehabilitation of the Tinteira and Cabec\u0327a Funda\u0303o schools and the Roc\u0327adas Social Center, acquisition of three vehicles for school transport, as way to reduce expenses, completion of asphalting work in the city of Cova Figueira and public and home lighting in Cha\u0303 das Caldeiras, are actions for 2024.<\/p>\n

The construction of the Santa Catarina Health Center is also planned, in the city of Cova Figueira, said Alberto Nunes, noting that the social, education, health, tourism, agriculture and fishing sectors as well as the urban requalification of other locations will be the priorities.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will continue to raise awareness among the government to pay special attention to the work of completing the ring road and improving air and sea transport. We encourage public and private investments as a way to create jobs and combat poverty in the municipality. All this effort aims to transform this municipality into an attractive, developed and competitive space\u201d, said Alberto Nunes.<\/p>\n

The mayor said that he is available for another term, the third, with the support of the Movement for Democracy (MpD) to complete all the projects recommended to place Santa Catarina do Fogo in the desired place and make it an attractive, competitive municipality and developed.<\/p>\n
