Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The president of PAICV (opposition party), Rui Semedo, said Thursday that his party follows \u201cwith great concern\u201d the war in Ukraine and regrets \u201cdeeply\u201d that the situation has reached this outcome.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe condemn whatever conflict resolution is not based on international principles and standards,\u201d said the top official of the black star\u2019s party.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe argue that international relations should be based on the principles of respect for international law, human rights and equality between States,\u201d said the African Independence Party of Cabo Verde leader, noting that the Cabo Verdean Constitution upholds the principles of non-interference in the internal affairs of other States.<\/p>\n

The president of the largest opposition party said PAICV advocates peace, dialogue and negotiation as a way to resolve conflicts and adds that the United Nations should play an important role in this regard.<\/p>\n
