Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The MpD today praised the Government’s dedication to raising health standards and highlighted notable advances, including exemption from user fees, improvements in pharmaceutical policy, expansion of the number of health professionals and the consolidation of the National Institute of Public Health, during the debate \u201cHealth and Development\u201d.<\/p>\n

MpD deputy, Isa Miranda, highlighted that, in challenging times, health is the basis of a nation’s development. In this sense, she praised the Government’s consistency and commitment to improving the population’s health and achieving international standards of excellence.<\/p>\n

During her speech, Isa Miranda also highlighted the advances in the health sector in recent years.<\/p>\n

Among the measures implemented, he mentioned the introduction of the user fee exemption regime, the improvement of pharmaceutical policy, the introduction of new vaccines into the routine vaccination calendar, the increase in human resources in primary health care and the licensing of several clinics. private.<\/p>\n

The deputy also emphasized the importance of consolidating the National Institute of Public Health and creating an Independent Health Regulatory Entity, which contributed to Cape Verde’s health indicators being among the best in Sub-Saharan Africa.<\/p>\n

Isa Miranda recognized the challenges faced by the country, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, and praised the Government’s effective response.<\/p>\n

The MpD highlighted the importance of the continuous search for excellence in health, mentioning the government’s plans for the year 2024, which include strengthening the anti-vector fight, restructuring the telemedicine network and investing in health infrastructure.<\/p>\n

In concluding, the deputy highlighted that health is an intrinsic factor in social and economic development, being fundamental to the country’s progress.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to applaud the Government\u2019s commitment, led by this Majority, to health and sustainable development in Cape Verde. The progress made so far is remarkable, but we also recognize that challenges remain.
