Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>US guards from the state of New Hampshire are in Cape Verde, starting today, to provide training for three weeks to military forces in search and rescue actions, the Government announced.<\/p>\n

As reported by Lusa, the training takes place on the island of Sa\u0303o Vicente as part of an exercise called \u201cGranite Falco\u201d and includes practical scenarios using helicopters.<\/p>\n

22 members of the New Hampshire National Guard and around 40 military personnel from the Armed Forces of Cape Verde participate in the activity, including aviators, doctors and mechanics.<\/p>\n

Cape Verde, through the Ministry of Defense, and the National Guard of the state of New Hampshire have a partnership protocol signed on February 4, 2022.<\/p>\n

The training anticipates the arrival of an aircraft for surveillance, medical emergency, search and rescue that should reinforce the operations of the Cape Verde Coast Guard from this year onwards.<\/p>\n
