Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The Interministerial Technical Commission for granting nationality to descendants of Cape Verdeans in African countries will be in Angola from the 3rd to the 16th of this month to prepare and instruct the processes for granting nationality in that country.<\/p>\n

According to a note sent to Inforpress, the visit takes place within the scope of the process of attributing nationality of origin to communities descending from Cape Verdeans in Africa, which has been ongoing since January last year.<\/p>\n

Composed of the records conservator, the assistant records officer, identification notary, personnel from the Directorate of Emigration and Borders of the National Police and technicians from the Ministry of Communities, the delegation will be in Porto Amboim, Sumbe, Gabela, Quilenda, province of Quanza South, in Prenda, Madeira, Cruzeiro, Mabuia, Luanda province, and in Cabinda.<\/p>\n

The special program for acquiring free nationality for Cape Verdean communities residing on the African continent is exempt from any consular fees and other costs related to the issuance of the first National Identification Card and passport.<\/p>\n

\u201cDescendants born in the diaspora carry with them Cape Verdean blood, our language and our entire culture, and are Cape Verdeans in body and soul, therefore, they are also worthy of the nationality of their country\u201d, reads the note.<\/p>\n

The Government launched the \u201cSomos Todos Cabo Verde\u201d program for the acquisition of Cape Verdean nationality to descendants of Cape Verdeans in the African diaspora, with the aim of ensuring that the ties of the first, second and third generations of communities with the Cape Verdean nation -verdiana remain \u201cstrong and cohesive\u201d.<\/p>\n

In this sense, the first, second and third generations of Cape Verdean communities on the African continent can now request their nationality of origin free of charge.<\/p>\n

The same source states that identical missions have already been carried out in Co\u0302te d’Ivoire, Guinea Bissau and Sa\u0303o Tome\u0301 and Pri\u0301ncipe, with plans also to cover communities<\/p>\n
