Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Justice, Joana Rosa, and the president of the Supreme Court of Justice of Portugal, judge-advisor Henrique Arau\u0301jo, shared today some concerns, gains and challenges with a view to finding solutions for better functioning and modernization of the sector.<\/p>\n

This opportunity to share concerns in the justice sector of both countries took place this morning during a courtesy visit by the president of the Supreme Court of Justice of Portugal, Henrique Arau\u0301jo, to minister Joana Rosa.<\/p>\n

The meeting, which lasted around 40 minutes, also aimed to deepen cooperative relations between the two judicial institutions, given the challenges posed to justice in today’s global world.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the press, the holder of the Justice portfolio, Joana Rosa, explained that in this ‘te\u0302te-a-te\u0302te’ it was also possible to talk about the gains achieved and the challenges, particularly in terms of the modernization of justice in both countries, although in Portugal, as I said, gains in terms of changes have been introduced for several years.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd we are on this path of operationalizing our Justice Information System (SIJ), modernizing the sector, bringing justice closer to citizens and making it faster\u201d, he highlighted.<\/p>\n

Pondering the challenges posed to justice in today’s global world, the minister highlighted the \u201cexemplary\u201d cooperation with Portugal, in several areas, and also in the justice sector, from strengthening criminal investigation, document security, among several other projects considered structural. for the justice sector.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe gains achieved to date are also largely due to cooperation with Portugal. Together we will work for a better functioning of justice as it is a fundamental pillar for the country’s development, democracy and the rule of law”, he highlighted.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe protocols that we signed with the Portuguese Ministry of Justice have been implemented, we have made gains in terms of criminal investigation, social reintegration, registration and notary, document security, we have made several exchanges over the years (…)\u201d, the governor said.<\/p>\n

For his part, and in a few words, the president of the Supreme Court of Justice of Portugal, judge-adviser Henrique Arau\u0301jo, said that this courtesy visit to the Minister of Justice, Joana Rosa, made it possible to discuss some aspects of justice, in the sense of strengthen the relationship and deepen cooperative relations between the two countries.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe highlight what may be less well so that we can find the appropriate solutions for a more appropriate functioning of the justice system in our two countries.
